P.A.R.T.Y Program

On Tuesday 3rd December Keys For Life students attended an excursion to the Albany Health Campus. The excursion is called the P.A.R.T.Y. program (Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth).

Students experienced what the aftermath of a road trauma could potentially be like. This involved trialling equipment used to remove victims from a crash site and taking a look inside an ambulance.

Students then proceeded to enter the Emergency Department and experience the actions doctors and nurses take to keep trauma patients alive.

For the remainder of the day, students learnt about the long period of rehabilitation and recovery caused by road trauma and discussed the ripple effect this can have on the family and community as a whole.

We would like to thank all of the medical staff who donated their time to share with us and answer questions on the day.
